At what speed can I expect to transfer my files?
This depends on your Internet connection.
The following rates are standard for an average connection:
- Upload transfer rates for senders: 1 Mbps = 300 MB per hour (5 MB per minute)
- Download rates for recipients: 10 Mbps = 3 GB per hours (50 MB per minute)
Upload rates are often incorrectly indicated and are usually much slower than download rates (which are emphasised in advertisements)

I can’t download a file: 404 Page not found

How do I know if my transfer was successfully received and downloaded?
Several methods allow you to check that your transfer was successfully received and downloaded by your recipients:
- Download notification: as soon as a recipient downloads a file for the first time, you automatically receive an email informing you.
- Your transfer's management page: using the link received when you sent your files, you can access a page showing exactly who downloaded each file and when.
- List of your transfers: the My transfers page lets you find all your transfers and confirm that your transfer was successfully completed.
- Read receipt (optional): at step 3, you can tick the box "request a read receipt from the recipient". Depending on the recipient's email client, this feature may not be active, and the recipient is free to send it to you or not.
- In case of a wrong address: if you mistyped an email address, you receive a message informing you that our email containing the download link could not be delivered.

My recipient didn't receive my transfer: what should I do?
Our emails comply with all deliverability rules, and GrosFichiers enjoys an excellent reputation with email providers. If a recipient hasn't received your transfer, here are the checks to perform:
- Check the spam folder or junk mail: this is the most common cause. Ask your recipient to check this folder, as our download email may sometimes be filed there automatically.
- Add our address to contacts: to ensure proper delivery, the recipient can add the address noreply@grosfichiers.com to their contacts or whitelist.
- Confirm that the transfer was completed: from the My transfers page, you can find the list of your transfers over the last 6 months as well as the download history (who downloaded what and when). This lets you check that the file was successfully sent and see whether it has already been retrieved.
- Take care with your transfer description: a missing or too brief description, or the presence of certain sensitive keywords, may cause spam filters to classify the message as junk. Adding a clear subject and message significantly improves deliverability.
